John Buchanan of that Ilk (c.1630-1681)
John Buchanan of that Ilk was the last Laird of Buchanan. He died in 1681 leaving no male heir.
The Arms are recorded in Lyon Register Volume 1, Page 122, 10 December 1675.

Chief of the Name and Arms of Buchanan
In August 2019, Michael Buchanan was confirmed by Lord Lyon, King of Arms, head of the Lyon Court in Scotland, as 20th Chief of the Name and Arms of Buchanan. Michael is the first Chief of the Clan in 337 years.
The Buchanan, John Michael Buchanan of that Ilk and Arnprior, was born on 14 September 1958. He is the son of John Neil Buchanan Baillie-Hamilton of Arnprior and the Hon. Caroline Barbara Barrie.
Michael married on 22 October 1994 Paula Frances Hickman M.D., daughter of John Hickman.
Michael graduated from Oxforn University, Oxford, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.). He is the manager of the Cambusmore Estate in the southern highlands near Callander, Scotland.
Michael and Paula have four children, Angus John Buchanan younger of that Ilk, Bruce, Lucy and Rory.
