Charles Alexander Buchanan of Touch
The bearer of these arms was the second son of Robert Buchanan of Fintona, County Tyrone. The family was resident in Ireland for some time, and appear to be descended from William Buchanan of Blairvockie.
The Buchanans of Blairvockie are cadets of Spittal via Walter Buchanan of Spittal.
Walter Buchanan of Spittal was brother german ( i.e. a full brother ) to George Buchanan of that Ilk, who married Elizabeth Preston and was father to John Buchanan last laird of Buchanan.
Members of the family went to Canada, and A. W. Patrick Buchanan, the author of the Buchanan Book, is connected to the family.
