Sir John William Buchanan-Jardine of Castle Milk, 3rd Bart. (1900-1969)
Sir Robert Jardine of Castle Milk, 1st Baronet (1825–1905), married in April 1867 Margaret Seton Hamilton, daughter of John Buchanan-Hamilton of Spittal, Bardowie and Leny. In 1905, he recorded arms in the name of Jardine. In 1927, his grandson Sir John William Buchanan-Jardine was granted the current quartered coat of arms that incorporated in the second quarter those of Buchanan. Note the Arms of Leny in the 3rd quarter.
Sir Robert was head of Jardine, Matheson and Co, merchants in China, as were his son and grandson.
